Maria brings 25 years of experience as a technology director with K-12 schools in NYC to implement video conferencing projects across the curriculum. These projects extend beyond student learning to the homes of immigrant families that benefit from intensive instruction on critical issues in their personal lives such as citizenship development and healthcare. Maria has conducted evaluation of these programs and has documented over time, increases in student attendance, motivation for learning, and content retention. Maria has presented at various educational technology conferences including NECC, FETC, and Alan November's Building Learning Communities. She has been recently recognized for her work in Technology & Learning Magazine.
John is the President of an educational technology consulting firm and has had over 10 years experience in working with schools to implement a variety of technologies. As a consultant, he provides development services to school districts and non-profit organizations in the use of computers and the use of technology to deliver educational and other community services. He works with governmental and private sector institutions to fund and support the use of technology in education. His previous professional background includes a position as director of Fordham University's Regional Educational Technology Center.
Jason is Co-President of DreamYard since 1992 and has over 15 years of experience in bringing various artists into the framework of classrooms throughout NYC. DreamYard has grown from an organization with a staff of two teaching artists to a well-respected arts education organization working with over 8,500 young people in over 40 schools providing in-school, after school, and out-of-school programs.
